Statement of Faith
The New Dimensions Church seeks to be a fellowship of believers bound together by mutual faith in Jesus Christ and genuine love for one another. We believe the death, burial and resurrection of Christ that constitutes the core of the Gospel that all people need to hear. Jesus, the Son of God, suffered the penalty of sin for all us when He died on the cross. Though He died, He did not stay dead. He was resurrected, confirming what spirit-filled people have always known – death is not the end!
We believe that our salvation is by God’s grace through our faith in the Lord Jesus (Ephesians 2:8). As sinners, we deserve punishment because of our sins. However, by grace, we received mercy from God as we looked dependently and trustingly at the saving work of Jesus at the cross. This is the “Good News” message known as “The Gospel.” The central message taught within our fellowship is that God loves and accepts sinners through Jesus Christ, who restores us in His name.
Biblically, it is our understanding that authentic faith in Jesus expresses itself in repentance, baptism in Jesus’ name, and the in-filling of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). Repentance is our sincere acknowledgement that God’s judgment against sin is just, and immersion in water (baptism) is the way for sinners to affirm our faith in the sufficiency of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection, and to accept the forgiveness He offers.
We accept the Bible as God’s inspired revelation. We are committed to the goal of teaching the Bible and allowing its eternal principles to continually move us closer to the center of God’s will for our lives. We believe in and depend upon the empowering work of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s daily life.
Though we are not saved “by good works,” we believe that we are saved “for good works.” We strongly encourage every member to find fulfillment in love and service to others. We deeply believe that it is in loving that one becomes like God. At New Dimensions Church, every member is considered a minister of Christ and is encouraged to identify, develop and use his or her spiritual gifts and talents to the glory of God.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, written by holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 1:21)
We believe that there is one God, Creator of all, whose name is Jesus; that the entrance into His Kingdom is through repentance of sin and water baptism by immersion in Jesus’ name, sanctioned by receiving the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.
We believe in the Virgin Birth. Jesus was born both human and divine; He was God manifested in the flesh. (Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6; I Timothy 3:16)
We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that He ascended into heaven and has sent His spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 2000 years ago, and it is the same spirit that fills the hearts of those who seek Him today. (Acts 2:4; 2:22-24; I Cor. 15:20)
We believe in a holy, sanctified life. We believe in divine healing, communion, and feet washing. We believe in the glorious catching away (The Rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds to take His people to Heaven. (1 Peter 1:16; Matthew 5:48; 2 Cor. 7:1; I Thess. 4:16; Mark 16:17-18)
We believe that Jesus is the only saving NAME (Acts 4:12)
